Just over 17 years ago an overly sensitive, emotional, yet at the same time, strong minded girl was born at Kelowna General Hospital. She is currently a senior in High School and is soon to be graduating with her Dual Dogwood Diploma. Although she has not spent much time on Earth thus far, she feels as though she is quite wise as she knows the true purpose to life; to love and to be loved. Her biggest inspiration who has guided her to come to this realization has been her mother, Dawn. Her mother’s unfortunately rough upbringing taught her what not to be as a parent making her the strong, nurturing mother she is. Alex’s parents separated when she was seven years old. Their divorce took a huge toll on her and her overall well-being for far too long. She was confused, upset and angry as most children of divorced parents are generally bound to be. With time she accepted the fact that her parents were not meant to be together and that although their family does not live under the same roofs, their love will forever be unconditional. Aside from her family, Alex aspires to positively impact the lives of others through whatever career she chooses to pursue. The thought of the future frightens her to a great extent so let’s not talk about it any further. All in all, Alex has her ups and downs but at the end of the day, she values the relationships she has maintained and developed throughout her lifetime and she is working on loving and being true to herself.
