Sophia Manoin, born and raised in the beautiful Okanagan, is a determined and ambitious student at KSS. When she first took this class in her grade 10 year, Sophia had no idea that journalism would soon become one of her passions and a creative outlet like no other. Sophia is very passionate and curious, whether focused on achieving her next black belt, researching causes of psychopathy or finishing a book series over a camping trip.
An avid martial artist, Sophia has been studying, teaching, and performing at Great Way Martial Arts for the better part of a decade. Sophia has earned three black belts throughout her Kung Fu career, performed for the Harlem Globetrotters, and become the youngest female martial arts employee in BC. When she isn’t training or assisting with classes, she can be found socializing with her friends and family or delving into the medical world. Whether she was interested in forensic psychology or anesthesiology, Sophia has known all her life that a career in medicine is the right path for her. While she continues her journey toward walking across the graduation stage, Sophia enjoys reading her weekends away, shopping, and exploring Hawaii with her mum.
