Ollie Fodell, Writer

Ollie Fodell is a grade 12 student at Kelowna Secondary. Although born in Ottawa, Ontario, Ollie has spent his entire life growing up in different cities across Canada and the United States. With a lifelong passion for activism and social issues, he has had many incredible opportunities to work alongside other activists, community leaders, politicians and organizations to create meaningful and lasting change.

Some of the most memorable experiences include being a part of a youth committee in Parliament to talk about youth mental health with various MPs and legislators, as well as organizing a walkout for his school as a part of the province-wide walkouts against the Ford government in Ontario. As well as partaking in community events and activism, Ollie works with a variety of artistic mediums, including but not limited to drawing and illustration, photography and printmaking.

He hopes to work for a music magazine one day as a photographer for live music events. He spends the majority of his free time at work, but likes listening to music and spending time with his friends. Ollie hopes to move out once he graduates from high school and is currently working hard on making that dream a reality.
