Isabella Harmel, Editor
This is Isabella's third and (unfortunately) final year at Censor This! She took the class on a whim in grade 10, and over quarantine discovered her passion for journalism. During her first year as editor, she renovated this website while writing articles about her favourite topics, the three A's, Advocacy, Arts and America in the 90's. This year, she hopes to dive into her duties as editor and take what she learned working for Kelowna Capital News to expand into the world of multimedia reporting.
Isabella is passionate about making a difference, which got her involved with British Columbia Youth Parliament (BCYP), a non partisan mock parliament organization that teaches youth about parliamentary procedure and facilitates collaborative debate, whilst helping B.C. communities. BCYP allows Isabella to turn the ideas she advocates for in her pieces into action that makes a difference in her community.
She hopes to pursue a degree in political science with a minor in French after graduation and turn that into a career in policy making.
If she's not writing, Isabella is often found listening to Taylor Swift, coming up with new franglais words or psychoanalyzing your birth chart.
She hopes you enjoy the site and that you remember to comment and share our articles!
