Ava Cudmore, Writer

Ava Cudmore is a grade 10 student at Kelowna Secondary School and is turning 15. Within the academic world, she is in French immersion and in the Indigenous academy. Her passion of Indigenous issues and knowledge came from her grade 9 Indigenous leadership class. Throughout this, she informed her school community about missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls, then went to the school board to talk about the Indigenous leadership class. Outside of school, she has been a member of Girl Guides for 7 years and is now in rangers.

During her years in Girl Guides, she has been awarded the Lady Baden Powell award and the Canada Cord award. In the future, she hopes to continue her path with Indigenous studies.
