Since I’m from Germany I would like to tell you some facts about my country.  Here are some facts for the uninitiated….

Germany is located in the middle of Europe. It has nine borders to the other countries these are Austria, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic and Denmark. The capital of Germany is Berlin. Altogether Germany consists of 16 states for example Baden-Württemberg, Bayern, Rheinland-Pfalz, Sachsen and Berlin. Germany has about 82,000,000 inhabitants and has an area of about 357,358,71 square kilometers. The currency is the euro. The flag has the colours black, red and gold.

The climate in January, February and December is usually cold months with average low temperatures around the freezing point. The weather in summer depends on whether you stay on the coast or in the mountains. If you stay in the interior of the country the temperature can reach 30/32 degrees, or even more. In autumn there can be nice warm sunny days, but then the weather becomes progressively colder. In the middle of November it is possible that there will be a first snow fall.

Germany has beautiful sights.  For example, the palace Neuschwanstein is a castle from the 19th century. Guided visits of this place are awesome. Another sight is the “Brandenburger Gate” this gate is a reminder of early boundaries. If you want to go cycling, walking or sailing you can go to the “Bodensee” (“Lake Constance” in English). If you are interested in seeing different cars then you have to go to the Mercedes Benz World. This is an automobile museum with classic cars.

Germany is yours to discover.  KSS is has a lot of exchange students from all over the country.  Want to know more?  Talk to one of us!
