Three Consecutive Golds for Thompson in Ski Cross

After an already incredible start to the ski season, Canada’s Marielle Thompson finished last weekends race at Val Thorens, France with three consecutive gold medal placings. She edged out her teammate Georgia Simmerling by a finger-length in a photo finish for her first win. Simmerling finished 5th overall and over on the men’s side Brady Leman finished third overall, which was his best placing since March of 2014. Another ski cross team member Dave Duncan crashed on-course and left France with a possibly broken wrist.

Thompson, who was a gold medal finisher at the Olympics, dominated the ski cross-world last season and won the prestigious Crystal Globe not once, but twice. She set high standards for herself after her many wins last season, and continued where she left off last season by winning the first race of the season in Nakiska.

Overall it was an awesome weekend for the Canadian Ski Team despite difficult conditions and cancelled races.
